Lucile (nee Allan) Ehlman of Marlton, NJ passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2021 in her home at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of the late Harvey Ehlman and sister to her late brother, Robert Allan. Loving mother to Leslie Ries (Steven) of Cherry Hill, NJ, Andrea Webster (Michael) of Spring Lake, NJ, John (Joann) of Apex, NC and Robert (Kristen) of Middletown, DE. Proud grandmother to Robert and Lindsay Ries, James, Victoria, and Grace Webster, Julia and Olivia Ehlman, and Jesse and Nathan Ehlman.

Lucile was born in Batavia, NY on June 25th, 1933 to parents Robert and Cecilia Allan. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1955 with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion and as a member of Alpha Phi sorority. While pursuing her passion working at Sibley’s Department Store, she met Harvey Ehlman, who she married at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC in May of 1958. Over the next 11 years, they welcomed two daughters and two sons.

Lucile was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed all things social—horseback riding, tennis, bridge club, Questers chapter, and volunteering for her children’s activities. Her home was adorned with unique collectables and family history that she curated over the years. Lucile loved nature, especially the water, as she grew up boating on Lake Ontario and spent time in Florida. She was heavily involved with her church and encouraged her children to do the same. Those who knew Lucile, knew her for her contagious laugh, sweet disposition, and that family was everything. She will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, July 9th from 10 to 11 AM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on 1 Hartford Road, Medford, NJ. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 11 AM at the same location. Contributions can be made in her memory to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
