Edith Freeman, daughter of Joseph and Sophie Brill, age 98 3/4 yrs, of Philadelphia, PA and Willingboro, NJ, died peacefully on January 26, 2016. Born in 1917 in Philadelphia, she lived her early life in the city with her parents, 9 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Bert Freeman in 1942 before WWII and moved to Upper Darby, PA and then Willingboro, NJ after the war. She is survived by her sister, her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Always a civic-minded individual, she employed her kindness and intelligence to help better her community. Edith spent many years volunteering and then working at the Willingboro Senior Center. She developed the senior exercise program and often had 30-40 participants in her class. In addition to performing as a dancer as a child, she enjoyed the performing arts until the very end. She loved to travel the world and never stopped learning or teaching. She taught us all how to love and respect others, the beauty of nature and the wonders of chocolate. Her family invites you to celebrate her life on February 6 from 2:00 PMto 4:00 PM at The Watermark, 2 Franklintown Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA. Please, no black or tears; this is to be a party.
